At St. Giles’, we believe in providing children with language skills that will open doors to the world, enabling them to seize every opportunity in life. Receiving high-quality education should promote children's curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world.
Learning a language can benefit children's understanding of the similarities and differences with other countries. In teaching French, we make links across the curriculum so that our children are able to make connections with countries studied across the curriculum, through our vehicles in history, geography and art.
MFL day at Painsley
Children were able to experience various languages including Catalan.
Year 3 had fun making Epiphany cakes; a traditional cake made in France.
They also learnt how to play hopscotch in French!
Year 5 learnt about the artist Claude Monet as part of their ‘It’s a Wonderful World’ vehicle, in order to inspire them in preparation for their art exhibition.
