St. Bernadette grew up in France in a very poor family. As she became older, Our Lady appeared to her many times. As a young adult, she became a nun and dedicated her life to God, praying for and helping others.

Nowadays, millions of people from all over the world go on a pilgrimage to the shrine in Lourdes in search of prayer, peace and miracle cures for their sickness.
