Whole School - St Giles'
Feast Day: 1st September
St Giles was a holy man who chose to live a quiet life of prayer as a hermit in the south of France. He is often shown with a deer, as legend tells that a deer helped sustain him by bringing him milk while he lived alone. His life of simplicity and devotion attracted others, and eventually a monastery was built where he became its abbot.
Today, St Giles is remembered as the patron saint of the disabled and those in need. He inspires us to care for others with compassion and to trust in God, even in times of difficulty, showing kindness and understanding to all.
