Feast Day: 1st January (Mary, Mother of God)

St Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was chosen by God to bring His Son into the world. She showed great faith and trust when she said “yes” to God’s plan at the Annunciation, even though she did not fully understand what lay ahead. She cared for Jesus with love and remained faithful to Him throughout His life, even standing by Him at the cross.

Today, Mary is honoured as the Mother of God and a model of faith, obedience, and love. Catholics around the world look to her as a guide and ask for her prayers, inspired by her example of saying “yes” to God in all things.
