Our Motto is Better Together

Choosing your child’s school is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.  The purpose of this website is to inform you about our vision, values and ethos, curriculum standards and provision, including the wide range and high quality opportunities available to every child at St Giles’.

As a Catholic school our fundamental mission is to promote positive values and virtues within our school community in which every person is respected as an individual, made in the image of Christ.  The promotion of Gospel values and British values are reinforced through the curriculum daily.

Through an extensive and creative curriculum children’s learning is enhanced by a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs. Our links with Painsley Catholic College enable the children to benefit from specialist teachers from many different areas such as; science, music, modern foreign languages and Design and technology.

We retain a high regard for the importance of engaging with families through regular communication and contact with parentsIndeed we believe that exceptional communication skills enhance the spiritual development, life chances and opportunities of all in our community.   Celebration assemblies are held every week, to share children’s achievements and successes; Induction evenings for parents are held in school, regular consultation evenings involve pupils in sharing and discussing their own progress in learning. The school regularly take part in parish Masses, ensuring they become part of the parish community.  We have recently introduced a daily text about what the children have been learning during the day to ignite conversations and enable parents to feel connected.

Whilst we hope you find this brief introduction useful, there can be no substitute for a personal visit and you are warmly invited to visit, by prior arrangement. You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome. We look forward to meeting you and your child in the future.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please contact the school with any queries you may have.
