Dear Parents,

Here is an overview of the learning we would like the children to be completing this week. Please use the scroll bar at the bottom of the timetable to view the whole timetable.

Geography- Study of the Americas.

See the success criteria below.

Choose any country from the Americas.  Sketch a map as you have done for the other continents you have studied.  Mark on the main physical features such as rivers and mountains.  Label at least three cities.  Try to explain why at least one of those cities has developed where it has.  (Refer to the physical features in your answer.)

Extension:  Research any interesting facts or famous landmarks in the country of your choice.

RE- Lent

Jesus and reconciliation.  Please look at the sheet that was given out on Friday.  Cut out the pictures along with their references.  Stick one at a time into your ‘Home learning’ book.  Read the bible story.  Beside the picture you have stuck in, write a reflection explaining how the character involved was affected and/or changed by their encounter with Jesus.

Hope this makes you feel happy.  I wish I could sing along with you all. Maybe someone in your family can sing along with you.

 

LO: To know that the sacrament of Reconciliation is the Church’s celebration of God’s love and forgiveness.

Success Criteria:

I will be successful if I can…

  • Read the stories of God’s love, mercy and forgiveness found in the New Testament.
  • Reflect on the main character in each story and explain how they may have been affected by the personal encounter with Jesus/ God.
  • Think of reasons why the Sacrament of Reconciliation is important to people today. Write your ideas in your book please.

 

 

LO: To describe the physical geography of a country and begin to explain how it affects human geography.

Success Criteria:

I will be successful if I can:

  • Choose a country in the Americas (maybe one that was involved in WW2.)
  • Make a sketch map of my chosen country and mark on (using colours, symbols and a key) the main physical features.  (i.e. major rivers, mountains, forests.)
  • Locate and mark on the major cities of the country.
  • Try to explain why these major settlements are where they are.
  • Explain if any of the geographical features were significant in WW2.
